Today to scour the depths of PlayStation now and tell you all about some of the good games and then make fun of the ones that aren’t.
Wolfenstein
Wolfenstein is one of the most underrated series of the past decade, I always see doom get a lot of love and rightfully so, but now imagine all the fast-paced gunplay of doom but instead of aliens, you get to shoot a bunch of heavily armed Nazis in a dystopian alternate universe led by one of the best villains I’ve ever gotten to encounter in a game, now what if I told you that there was also a story full of ambitious twists and turns and shocking moments that left my jaw dropped multiple times, I don’t want to spoil anything but there are so many times when you think well surely that’s not about to happen and then it does. Overall I think the first one has a more cohesive story but the second one does a lot of great things too, I would tell you not to even bother with this spin-off, but lucky for you it’s not on PlayStation now so I have no obligation to acknowledge it as part of this list.
Rocket League
Most people who have a current-generation console have probably played Rocket League at some point but I still feel like it’s flown under the radar, this game has provided us with some of the most satisfying moments of our lives but even after almost 5 years of playing this game there’s almost no better feeling than hitting the game-winning shot in overtime or coming back from what seemed like an impossible deficit. Rocket league is the ultimate sports video game because there’s almost no luck involved you don’t have to hope you get the right catch animation or get mad when your shot should have gone in but didn’t because the game decided it wouldn’t if you make good decisions and hit the ball the way you’re supposed to you’re probably gonna win and when you lose you almost always have no one to blame except yourself rocket league also has one of the largest skill gaps either way, it’s one of those simple to pick up hard to master games that has a little something for everyone.
Overcooked 2
Overcooked 2 is one of the most fun arcade games ever played, every improvement over its predecessor is much appreciated and will provide. You and your friends with so many hours of entertainment that you’ll forget you’ve been doing unpaid kitchen labor this entire time. Don’t let the cartoony appearance of the game fool you. There’s a steep but satisfying learning curve here after the first few cakewalks you’ll find yourself having to focus harder on not burning rice than you ever have in your life if you’re looking for a fun co-op arcade game that gets progressively more challenging and will either bolster or absolutely destroy your friendships. Overcook 2 is well worth your time.
Fallout 4
Three out of ten a lot of people seem to think that Fallout 3 and Fallout new vegas are better than Fallout 4, and even though they’re right if you’ve never played a Fallout game before you would start with this one and work your way back at least that’s what my experience was Bethesda may get almost everything wrong these days but man are they good at music everyone loves the Skyrim soundtrack but fallout 4’s ambience can be just as beautiful and that’s not even mentioning the perfect selection of mid-century blues and jazz music that truly makes you feel like you’re in the apocalypse we initially sunk about 100 hours into this game and still didn’t see every corner of the map probably because about 20 of those hours were spent trying to build a giant treehouse that I was really proud of until I went on youtube and saw what other people were making, the AI can be inconsistent and another settlement needs your help but even through its flaws.
Go Sports Ski
Finally the crown jewel of PlayStation now games is none other than Go Sports Ski unlike other games they don’t bog you down with endless customization options you get one face to choose from regardless of skin tone and I like that the gameplay itself is just on another level for a second I actually forgot I wasn’t really skiing it’s that immersive and just when you thought the fun ended at the bottom of the slope the replay feature lets you relive your most exciting moments from a brand new perspective my one gripe with the game if I had to pick one is when I tried to take my experience online only to be devastated when I found out that for some reason their servers were down damn well regardless go sports ski gets my first and only perfect rating on the list.
